ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY: LEAD THE FUTURE OF UPSTREAM FESTIVAL

We’re looking for 3 ambitious founders to take on pivotal roles in Program, Partnerships, and Production at Upstream this year, with the exciting prospect of stepping into full leadership by 2026.

Since its inception in 2020, Upstream has evolved into the leading Dutch startup festival for founders committed to shaping a better world. Over the course of two days, we provide everything a startup needs to scale and thrive. Built by a vibrant community of over 60 organizers, Upstream is where innovation meets impact. Attracting a curated community of startups, investors, corporate buyers and changemakers.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR THREE NEW LEADERS THAT WILL TAKE UPSTREAM INTO THE FUTURE:

Head of Program

  • Curate groundbreaking content and experiences that provide founders, investors and changemakers with everything they need to thrive in shaping a sustainable future.
  • Lead marketing and PR efforts to elevate Upstream’s visibility and engage a global audience / community.
  • Collaborate with speakers and thought leaders to ensure the program stays cutting-edge and future-focused.

Head of Production

  • Lead the operational excellence behind the scenes, ensuring smooth execution of Upstream’s main events, and alignment of side events.
  • Manage event logistics and technology to create seamless and memorable experiences for attendees, partners, and speakers.
  • Oversee a dynamic production team, including contractors and vendors, to deliver a high-quality festival that drives lasting impact.

Head of Partnerships

  • Build strategic partnerships with key stakeholders, including corporates, governments, and ecosystem players, to support Upstream’s vision.
  • Develop and execute sales and sponsorship strategies that align with the mission of creating a future proof economy.
  • Foster long-term relationships with partners, ensuring they are fully engaged and integrated into the festival’s success.

For the 2025 festival, taking place on May 21 & 22, you will be supported by the current team, preparing you to fully take over the reins the following year. We expect you to be available from January to June and make a significant personal time investment.
